“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always be what you’ve always been.”

Kurtis Parks is the Worship Director at National Community Church, a multi-site church led by Pastor and NY Times best-selling author Mark Batterson in the Washington DC area. There he leads NCC Worship, the music team made up of nearly 150 singers and musicians, signed with Integrity Music. They recently released “You Alone”, a worship album co-produced by Parks, alongside Dove award winner Kyle Lee. NCC Worship currently travels often playing at churches and conferences alike, sharing their vision to see “global revival through personal worship.” Kurtis speaks to worship teams, and at conferences about his desire to see passionate worship emerge in the Church.

Kurtis is soon releasing his first book, SoundCheck, a book on authentic worship, and has a passion to charge worship leaders to live a live of authenticity, on and off the stage. He’s had the opportunity to speak and lead recently at National Worship Leader Conference, and travels throughout the year, both with NCC Worship, and on his own.

Having written over 1200 songs in every genre since the age of 13, and producing over 30 projects in the last 4 years, Kurtis truly understands the gift of music, and the potential for it’s impact on our world today. Some may recognize him as a top 50 finalist on American Idol’s fourth season. Kurtis has also appeared on the Fox Morning Show, BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel Hour, and his song “Forever Changed”, written for his beloved Virginia Tech community after the April 2007 tragedy was featured on NBC News and CNN. He was also a VH1 “Song of the Year” finalist with his song “Everything That You Are.” His song “Burn it All Down” hit Billboard’s Hot Gospel top 20, written with Joel Buckner, fellow worship leader. Parks was one of the featured worship leaders and writers on “ONE a Worship Collective”, which hit #1 on Soundscan in it’s first week! Many of his worship choruses are being sung around the world in churches every weekend.

Kurtis has shared the stage with many well-known artists, both Christian and Secular, including John Mayer, Howie Day, Sanctus Real, Rachel Lampa, Reliant K, Gungor, Ben Folds, Robbie Seay Band, and The White Tie Affair.

Kurtis is married to Sarah, and they live in the DC area with their two kids, Norah and Moses.

One of Kurtis’ main passions is producing music and bringing artists’ dreams to life. From major label projects to independent albums, KP has worked on over 50 albums in the past 10 years. In Nashville, Kurtis honed his songwriting and production skills, and learned from seasoned producers like Akil Thompson, John Hartley, and Chris Estes. In every style from pop and rock, to Gospel and R&B, Kurtis has a knack for hearing the best parts and making a song the very best it can be.

Kurtis runs his production company, 3 Leaves Music, out of his house studio – Secret Sound Studio, in Annandale, VA. Working with great mics, preamps, and instruments is part of the fun, and any artist will feel right at home with KP’s professional but friendly work ethic

KP works with some incredible musicians, mixers, and mastering engineers from NY City to LA, that have some amazing credentials, to ensure that every artist gets the very best product possible. He’s produced the last 4 albums for NCC Worship, with the last two appearing on major labels Integrity Music, and Influence (Sony/Provident).
